How it works
Anything we make, we’re happy to take back – and when you trade in, shipping is on us. Send us your used On shoes and apparel and we’ll make sure they find a new home. Less waste, more performance.
Step 1 - Gather your eligible gear
Do you have On gear that you love but no longer use? We're happy to accept shoes and apparel pieces, but they need to be functional and in great condition.
Step 2 - Send us your items
Fill out this form and tell us a bit about your gear. Once that's done, we'll send you a prepaid shipping label by email. Pack up your items, add the label and pop them in the mail. Shipping is on us. Yep, it's that easy. Check what's accepted here.
Step 3 - Get rewarded & move Onward
After we receive the items, our team will confirm their condition and eligibility. For each eligible item, you’ll receive a gift card to spend towards your next purchase on the Onward platform or at on-running.com. Your gear will then be listed for sale on Onward, ready to find its new home. Anything that isn't eligible will be donated or recycled.
What we accept
We accept On gear that's clean and in excellent condition. This means it's completely free of pet hair, odors and signs of heavy debris or discoloration. It should not have been used for more than 50 miles and should have few, if any, signs of wear.

Trade-in value
For gear that can be re-sold, you will receive a gift card with store credit. The gift card value will depend on the category of the item, which you'll find below. For anything that isn't eligible to resell, we'll make sure it gets donated or recycled so it won't end up in landfill.
Shoes: $30 credit
Shorts, Tops & T-shirts: $10 credit
Pants, Tights, Vests, Hoodies & sweatshirts: $20 credit
Jackets: $40 credit
Parka: $55 credit
FAQ
How does the trade-in process work?
Trade-in can only be done online via the Onward platform (though we're working on enabling trade-ins in some of our flagship stores, so stay tuned!) You will be asked to fill out a quick form and provide some information about your trade-in item. You will then receive a shipping label via email. Print it out and send us your shoes or apparel in any kind of packaging. Please always include the trade-in slip. Start a trade-in here.
What credit can I receive?
For every eligible item you trade in, you'll receive an On gift card. The value will depend on the item's category. The gift card can be used on new gear at on-running.com or used gear via our Onward program. If your gear is not eligible for resale, we'll donate or recycle it free of charge.
Trade-in value:
Shoes: $30 credit
Shorts, Tops & T-shirts: $10 credit

What items are accepted for trade-in?
To be eligible for a gift card, your gear will need to be in excellent condition and cleaned before reaching us. It should be completely free of pet hair, odors and signs of heavy debris or discoloration. Generally, this also means the item was not used for more than 50 miles and has few, if any, signs of wear. If your items aren't eligible for trade-in, we suggest taking them directly to your local charity shop or recycling facility rather than sending them to us. This is to avoid any unnecessary environmental impact caused by shipping.
